A fungus that invades the tissue can cause a disease that's confined to the skin, spreads into tissue, bones and organs or affects the entire body. Fungi cause three differing types of human illness: poisonings, parasitic infections, and allergies. Many poisonous mushrooms are eaten by mistake because they look like edible mushrooms. Parasitic yeasts cause candidiasis, ringworm, and athlete's foot. Symptoms Includes redness in the groin, buttocks, or thighs, chafing, irritation, itching, or burning in the infected area. a red rash with a circular shape and raised edges, cracking, flaking, or dry peeling of the skin within the infected area.
