 Criminal law is article open acess only one of the devices by which organized societies protect the security of individual interests and ensure the survival of the group just as long as we willingly take the prescribed legal consequences. As far as the law is anxious, criminal behaviour is to be avoided. This is so whether or not we are enthusiastic to take the implications the distinction between criminal law and tort law is difficult to draw with real precision the determination of criminal sanctions was to make the offender give retribution for harm done and expiate his moral guilt. Local governments all have penal codes that describe the specific crimes that they prohibit and the punishments that criminals may face.
