Recombinant Chitinase
Chitin consists of the insoluble homopolysaccharide β-(1, 4)-linked N-acetylglucosamine, which is that the second most abundant biopolymer found in nature. Chitinases play an important role in chitin recycling in nature and chitin by the activity of cold-adjusted chitinases offers huge preferences in modern applications by biodegradation simply like the treatment of chitin-rich waste at low temperatures, the biocontrol of phytopathogens in cool conditions and also the biocontrol of microbial decay of refrigerated food. The recombinant chitinase was emitted into the medium when actuated with 1% methanol in BMMY medium at 25°C. The decontaminated recombinant chitinase displayed two groups, similar to the non-glycosylated and glycosylated proteins, by SDS-PAGE with sub-atomic masses of about 39 and 50 kDa, separately. The catalyst showed an acidic pH trademark with an ideal pH at 4.0 and an ideal temperature at 15°C.
