Genetic Code Scholarly Peer-review Journal
Genetic code helps in carrying the knowledge of living cells by DNA and RNA molecules. The ordering is that the set of rules by which information encoded within genetic material (DNA or mRNA sequences) is translated into proteins by living cells. This help in determining the aminoalkanoic acid sequence utilized in the synthesis of an organism proteins. The ordering is almost universal, and therefore the arrangement of the codons within the standard codon table is very non-random. The three main concepts on the origin and evolution of the code are the stereochemical theory, consistent with which codon assignments are dictated by physico-chemical affinity between amino acids and therefore the cognate codons (anticodons); the coevolution theory, which posits that the code structure coevolved with aminoalkanoic acid biosynthesis pathways; and therefore the error minimization theory under which selection to attenuate the adverse effect of point mutations and translation errors was the principal factor of the code’s evolution. These theories aren't mutually exclusive and also are compatible with the frozen accident hypothesis, i.e., the notion that the quality code may need no special properties but was fixed just because all extant life forms share a standard ancestor, with subsequent changes to the code, mostly, precluded by the deleterious effect of codon reassignment.
Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform reasonably impartial review.
