Surgical Pathology Journals
Surgical pathology is the study of tissues removed from living patients during surgery to help diagnose a disease and determine a treatment plan. Surgical pathology is the most significant and time-consuming area of practice for most anatomical pathologists. Often, the surgical pathologist provides consultation services in a wide variety of organ symptoms and subspecialties. Surgical pathologists provide diagnostic information and/or second opinions. Surgical pathology includes both the physical examination of the tissue with the naked eye, as well as examining processed tissue under a microscope. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
