Scientific Journals Of Drug Discovery

 Drug discovery is the mechanism by which possible new medicinal products are established. It covers a broad variety of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, and pharmacology. More recently, in intact cells or whole organisms, chemical libraries of synthetic small molecules, natural products or extracts have been screened to identify substances in a process known as classical pharmacology which had a desirable therapeutic effect. Since the sequencing of the human genome has made it possible to rapidly clone and synthesize large amounts of purified proteins, the use of high-performance screening of large compound libraries against isolated biological targets that are thought to be disease-modifying in a process called reverse pharmacology has become popular practice. Hits from those screens are then checked for effectiveness in cells and then in animals
