Preterm Birth Scientific Journals
A premature
birth may be a
birth that takes place quite three weeks before the baby's estimated maturity. In other words, a premature
birth is one that happens before the beginning of the 37th week of pregnancy. Premature babies, especially those born very early, often have complicated medical problems. Typically, complications of prematurity vary. But the sooner your baby is born, the upper the danger of complications.
Depending on how early a baby is born, he or she may be:
Late preterm, born between 34 and 36 completed weeks of pregnancy
Moderately preterm, born between 32 and 34 weeks of pregnancy
Very preterm, born at but 32 weeks of pregnancy
Extremely preterm, born at or before 25 weeks of pregnancy
In academic publishing, a scientific journal may be a periodical publication intended to further the progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Articles in scientific
journals are mostly written by active scientists like students, researchers and professors rather than professional journalists. There are thousands of scientific
journals in publication, and lots of more are published at various points within the past (see list of scientific journals). Most
journals are highly specialized, although a number of the oldest
journals like Nature publish articles and scientific papers across a good range of scientific fields. Scientific
journals contain articles that are peer reviewed, in an effort to make sure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity.
