Pathological Mechanisms

 The pathogenesis of a disease is that the biological mechanism (or mechanisms) that results in a diseased state. The term also can describe the origin and development of the disease, and whether it's acute, chronic, or recurrent. The defects in molecular and cellular processes that constitute the triggers of specific pathologies are referred to as mechanisms of disease. Research during this area is significant for designing appropriate and effective treatments. Pathogenesis is that the process by which an infection results in disease.
