Multidrugtherapy Of Leprosy

Leprosy is an ancient disease, which was treated by local application of chaulmoogra/hydnocarpus oil during prechemotherapeutic era. The drugs used in WHO-MDT are a combination of rifampicin, clofazimine and dapsone for MB uncleanliness patients and rifampicin and dapsone for PB infection patients. Among these rifampicin is that the most indispensable antileprosy medication and in this way is incorporated inside the treatment of the two sorts of uncleanliness. Endeavors to kill the ailment have confronted different deterrents, including qualities of the causative bacillus Mycobacterium leprae: the long timespan , restricted information about its method of transmission, and its poor development on culture media. Luckily, the Mycobacterium leprae is delicate to numerous anti-infection agents.
