Exogenous DNA
The introduction of exogenous DNA into a cell is named transformation (transfection in animal cells). This can take place naturally or artificially.
The term exogenous protein metabolism implies the breakdown of food proteins which do not exist as parts of the cell protoplasm and replacement of protein is rapid in plasma, liver, kidneys and intestinal tract and slow in haemoglobin, muscle and skin.
Transgenesis is that the process of introducing a gene (referred to as a transgene) from one organism into the genome of another organism. The point is that the subsequent transgenic living being will communicate the quality and show some new property or trademark.
