Biomarker is a measurable indicator of the severity or state of disease. It can also be defined as anything that can be used as an indicator of a particular disease state or physiological state of an organism. Based on their application, biomarkers can also be classified in to different types such as diagnostic biomarkers, disease biomarkers, disease prognosis biomarkers. Cardiac troponin is an example of Diagnostic biomarkers which is uses for the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. In order to use a biomarker for diagnostics, the sample material must be as easy to obtain as possible.
