Clinical Immunology Journals

The Journal of Immunotoxicology is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes articles in the fields of immunotoxicology, immunology, and toxicology. It is published by Informa. Immunotoxicology (sometimes abbreviated as ITOX) is the study of the toxicity of foreign substances called xenobiotics and their effects on the immune system. Immunotoxicology is the study of adverse effects on the immune system resulting from drug treatments or exposure to a variety of chemicals. The immune system is a complex integrated system including immunocompetent cells and soluble factors that serve specialized roles. The clinical data accumulated so far unequivocally demonstrate that immunotoxicity is associated with significant morbidity. Immunotoxic effects are divided into four categories: immunosuppression, immunostimulation, hypersensitivity and autoimmunity. Each category is associated with distinct adverse effects.
