Cardiac Ischemia Research Articles
Cardiac ischemia refers to the cardiac muscle being short of blood flow and oxygen. Cardiac ischemia occurs when an artery is narrowed or blocked for a short time, thus preventing the arrival of oxygen-rich blood into the heart. If ischemia is severe or lasts too long it can result in a heart attack (myocardial infarction) and can lead to death of the heart tissue. In most cases, the pain of angina pectoris causes temporary blood shortage to the heart. In other cases, however, there is no discomfort. These cases are called silent ischemia. In this review article, we will quickly survey the present ideas and future points of view on myocardial ischemia, with an exceptional reference to endothelial brokenness, the Rho-kinase pathway, and micro vascular angina.
