Brugada Syndrome

Brugada syndrome is a disorder that lead to irregular heartbeats in the heart's lower chambers (ventricles), which is an abnormality called ventricular arrhythmia which causes a disruption of the heart's normal rhythm. The condition is very unpredictable. The condition manifests primarily during adulthood, and causes a high risk of ventricular arrhythmias and sudden death. Symptoms include, Palpitations, Fainting, Seizures, Sudden death or cardiac arrest. Treating ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation and preventing sudden death in patients with Brugada syndrome is implantation of an automatic implantable cardiac defibrillator. Radiofrequency catheter ablation has been recently reported as an effective new treatment. No pharmacologic therapy has been proved to reduce the occurrence of ventricular arrhythmias or sudden death
