Bone Marrow In Medicine

 Bone marrow is the soft spongy tissue that lies within the hollow interior of long bones. In adults, marrow in large bones produces new blood cells. Bone marrow forms around 4% of total body weight. There are two types of bone marrow: red marrow that is responsible for producing red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets; and yellow marrow consisting mainly of fat cells. Journal of Bone Marrow Research focused on the areas such as Acute undifferentiated leukemia, Osteogenic cells, Ribosome diseases, Bone marrow infection, Bone marrow suppression, Bone marrow transplantation, bone marrow stem cells, bone marrow cancer, bone marrow disease, bone marrow stromal cells, bone marrow biopsy, mesenchymal stem cells, transplantation immunology, haematopoiesis and their increasing role in the diagnosis, characterization, therapy of various bone marrow related diseases.
