Autism Research

Autism Research is co-owned and supported by The International Society for Autism Research (INSAR), a scientific and professional organization devoted to advancing knowledge about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Research prospects and priorities in the field of autism are discussed with respect to (1) diagnosis, classification, and epidemiology; (2) clinical research; Neuropsychological research; genetics; structural and functional brain imaging; post-mortem studies; other organic research; and treatment research.. Also, it is argued that research into autism has a priority in the broader field of developmental psychopathology because it carries the promise of throwing mild on causal mechanisms that apply beyond the syndrome of autism.
