Molecular Cloning Open Access Journals
Molecular cloning, a term that has come to mean the creation of recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid molecules, has spurred progress throughout the life sciences. Beginning within the 1970s, with the invention of restriction endonucleases – enzymes that selectively and specifically cut molecules of DNA – recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid technology has seen exponential growth in both application and class , yielding increasingly powerful tools for DNA manipulation. Cloning genes is now so simple and efficient that it's become a typical laboratory technique. This has led to an explosion within the understanding of gene function in recent decades. Emerging technologies promise even greater possibilities, like enabling researchers to seamlessly stitch together multiple DNA fragments and transform the resulting plasmids into bacteria, in under two hours, or the utilization of swappable gene cassettes, which may be easily moved between different constructs, to maximise speed and adaptability
