Pharmaceutical Development Uses

 Pharmaceutical development is aimed to design a quality drug and a manufacturing process capable of producing the product efficiently with its intended output. A pharmaceutical product should be developed to meet the needs of the patients. The expertise and information acquired from pharmaceutical development studies and manufacturing experience provide scientific understanding to support the design space, requirements, and manufacturing controls developed. A more systematic development approach (also defined as quality by design) may include, for example, the incorporation of prior knowledge, the results of studies using experiment design, the use of quality risk management and the use of knowledge management throughout the product's lifecycle. The application of quality by design ( QbD) in the development of pharmaceutical products is now a thrust area for regulators and the pharmaceutical industry. Genetic variation in plants, animals , and microbes around the world can be a rich resource for future medicinal products. For example, penicillin, aspirin and the anti-cancer drug taxol are drugs whose active ingredients were first isolated from natural sources. Within the habitats of rain forests, deep seas, and other biomes there are undoubtedly even more potential drugs available. However, many countries in which pharmaceutical development resources originate are now demanding that companies work out equitable profit-sharing agreements if a successful drug is developed from the genetic resources of a nation.
