Synthesis of new -aminophosphonates by one-pot reaction using 1,4-dimethyl piperazine as a catalyst

The Schiff’s bases were prepared by reacting 9-ethyl-3-amino carbazole with substituted aromatic aldehydes in refluxing ethanol. Dialkyl phosphite undergoes addition readily with aromatic Schiff’s bases to give - aminophosphonates(Kabachnik-Field’s reaction) in presence of catalytic amount of 1,4-dimethyl piperazine. The structures of the title compounds were established by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR and LCMS mass spectral data. The anti-microbial and anti-oxidant activitiy of these compoundswere evaluated and they exhibited significant antimicrobial and anti-oxidant activity.
