Abstract

Synthesis and in vitro study of antibacterial activity of some novel chalcones

Author(s): Shipra Baluja, Sumitra Chanda

Some chalcones derivatives have been synthesized and their structures have been confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, and Mass spectral data. The antibacterial activity of these synthesized Chalcones has been studied against some Grampositive and Gram negative bacteria in dimethyl sulphoxide using agar sodiumhywell diffusionmethod. It is observed that inhibition depends on compound structure and bacterial strain.
