Abstract
Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of some 1,4-dihydropyridines derivatives

LakshmiA series of 1, 4-dihydropyridine derivatives were prepared from three compounds condensation reaction of ethylacetoacetate, aromatic aldehyde and ammonium hydroxide. A new series of compounds (2a-f) were prepared from compounds (1a-f) via reaction with α-naphthayl amine using the condensation method. The synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analyses. The synthesized compounds (1e-f) and (2a-f) were also screened for antimicrobial properties.
