Phytochemical and Elemental Screening on Leaves and Flowers of Catharanthus Roseus : An Important Medicinal Plant of Bangladesh

Qualitative analysis of Catharanthus roseus plant confirms the presence of various phytochemicals like alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, steroids, carbohydrates, anthaquinone glycosides etc in different extracts of its leaves and flowers. Some minerals have also been identified in the leaves and flowers of the plant by ICP-MS techniques.
