Microwave assisted Lewis acid catalyzed Claisen rearrangements of allylaryl ethers (1a–r) were investigated. Lewis acid (ZnCl2 and BF3.OEt2) catalyzed microwave assisted Claisen rearrangement yielded 2-allylphenols (2a–r) from o-allylaryl ethers (1a-r) in excellent yields.
