Abstract

Investigation of the dielectric properties and thermodynamic parameters of (50-x)P2O5 Γ?Β?Γ?Β?Γ?Β?Γ?Β?xAgI -40Ag2O -10Fe2O3 [x= 0,15,20,25,30,35,40 and 45] ionic glass

Fast ion conducting glasses in the form(50-x)P2O5-xAgI-40Ag2O-10Fe2O3 [ where x= 0,15,20,25,30,35,40,45mole%]were prepared by themelt quenching technique. The influence of AgI addition on the dielectric properties and thermodynamic parameters of the investigated system has been discussed in terms of the suitablemodels. The effect of frequency and temperature on the dielectric parameters such as the dielectric constant ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚Β¥ÂΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€˜, dielectric loss ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚Β¥ÂΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€œ, and the dielectric loss tangent (tan ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚Β¤) have been studied in the temperature range 300-413oK and in the frequency range 0.5-100 kHz. The thermodynamic parameters such as the free energy of activation (ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€žF), the enthalpy of activation (ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€žH) the entropy of activation (ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€žS) and the activation energy of relaxation (ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€žEr) have been calculated.
