Abstract

Friction calibration curves using non-conventional specimens

The main objective of this research is to investigate the possibilities of alternative non-conventional specimens for friction calibration. Aseries of compression tests were simulated on eight non-standard test specimens usingAl-2024 as the experimentalmaterial. Based on the deformation study, friction calibration curves for the two eligible specimens are developed.
