Facile hydrothermal synthesis of single crystalline barium aluminate nanoplatelets

Synthesis of one-dimensional BaAl2O4 single crystalline nanoplatelets has been realizedin this article. The nanoplateletswere synthesized bya facile hydrothermal treatment ofmixed solution of barium nitrate and aluminum nitrate in the presence or surfactants. Post-growth annealing at high temperatures promotes the crystallization of the materials. The BaAl2O4 nanoplatelets reported by usmay have significant implications in examining shape dependent phosphorescence properties and building functional nanodevices.
