Abstract

Efficient Synthesis of Benzimidazole and Quinoxaline Derivatives with ZnO.H2O2 under Mild Conditions

Various benzimidazoles and quinoxalines derivatives have been synthesized with excellent yields using a catalytic amount of zinc oxide with hydrogen peroxide (ZnO.H2O2) at room temperature. The advantages of this synthetic protocol are a wide substrate range, easy handling and commercially available inexpensive catalyst.
