Either pure CSH orCSH with carbon and other compounds present in the ash and insoluble in sodium hydroxide solution can be prepared by this technique. The obtained calcium silicate hydrates were characterized by IR and XRD analysis; some heavy metals present in waste water and underground water were efficiently removed by them.
