Field experiment was performed
to evaluate the effect of Oscillatoria annae extract on the
morphology, biochemistry and yield of Oryza sativa. The results
showed that 0.01% of cyanobacterial extract treatment significantly
increased the growth and biochemical parameters in addition to the
yield. Micro and macro nutrient analysis of the soil showed a positive
correlation between reduction of nutrients and increase in morphological
and biochemical parameters. The cyanobacterial growth promoting hormones
moderately induced higher uptake of nutrients which resulted in increase
of biochemical parameters in Oryza sativa. This study reveals
that Oscillatoria annae intracellular products may satisfy the
search for an efficient biofertilizer by producing IAA like plant growth
regulators.
